As of this moment, yes i am and my Brother is also going to attend. (The invisible man mentioned often on my threads).
It's been hit and miss this yearas the Wife is still nursing her mother in Truro so the it will only be my Brother and i. If this should turn for the worse then that will will change.
I have never been to this event, I have to say one of my biggest regrets in mt 40 years of collecting is not making the effort to come to the Northern Film convention in it's big hey days. I want to attend this year in case there are no more. We done Ealing three times, (again, i wish we did more but we cant change the past). It's a poop of a drive from Plymouth being around 6 hours. I may only be able to do the Saturday and Sunday though. I have no idea how it all works.

Tom,

The friday night has the film show - last year was a 16mm print of Roger Moore's last outing as James Bond - A View to a Kill plus adverts and trailers - I stuck my head round the door - it looked great but my wife and I were tired from our drive from Sourh Wales. The Saturday has changed this year as I believe there will be another Film Show on Saturday afternoon. Saturday evening is the Film Convention Dinner and Raffle followed another film show into late evening. The actual film convention opens around 10am on the Sunday till 4pm and as usual there are other film shows on different gauges showing during the day. I hope this helps.

High folks

It might be an idea to start a separate topic regarding your convention, as every time its mentioned of late, this topic "Avoid this Ebayer" pops up, and although I don't know "Robert Tucker" as mentioned, his name will keep getting dragged through the "mud" even although its changing in direction.

I for one am very disappointed at the way this person has been treated here by others, and hope he will come on to explain what he found wrong with the camera, which as to date has not been explained in any way by either the seller or buyer.

It would be nice of those complaining about this guy, start a topic here that has "lets say" a more positive theme.

Apologies Graham,

just replying to the above post. I'm glad the ebay seller has been named and shamed - I had a bad experience with him a few years ago. In my humble opinion he is not a supporter of the hobby - just out to make a quick £££

Graham, so you believe other members relating their bad experience with him is treating him unfairly and is dragging him through the mud? I'm am glad when we are warned about bad dealers. At least three members here have had bad dealings with him. That says a lot about him.

Graham Ritchie- you are disappointed? Why? You yourself have had no dealings with him- why are you not disappointed with my experience? I’m disappointed in your lack of support.

As soon as I saw the name of the buyer and the fact he only paid for one camera out of two won, made me certain there was going to be a problem. And there was. I refunded fully as I knew he’d get EBay to step in and they’d do just that. He obviously bid (both cameras got low prices) and then he had second thoughts. He stated one camera wouldn’t run and the other would not allow him to see through the viewfinder. Both cameras were fine on sending out. I don’t sell dodgy gear. End of.

No problem David

Barry topics like this "can" be used to get at people unfairly and can drag on and on. We all know that old film cameras might work one day and not the next, but where are the details from the seller regarding all this?

Believe me Barrie I have been caught out myself with film and the last thing this forum needs is a mud slinging contest...life is to short for that. [Smile]

I’m the seller Graham- and have given details. Do keep up! I really do not see what you are adding to this thread?!

I am merely describing my experiences with the buyer, backed up by more than one other person here. It’ll always be my word against his anyway. As a good businessman though, he has a full refund inc postage. I will not do business with him again though.

I'll wait a minute while people take a breath.

I'd like to think that I'm fairly sensitive to the mud slinging that can occur in these type of threads and I don't see that happening here, although I do see the point Graham is making. According to Simon, eBay had to force the buyer to pay for the item he won, something totally separate from the refund issue. Both Maurice and David say they have also experienced problems, however I think specifics are needed in these cases. We have not heard yet from Robert about this and I hope he will post here soon.

Till then, I would suggest that unless someone else can add about other direct dealings (positive or negative), this thread has run its course.

Doug,

If you are referring to my unfortunate dealing with Mr Tucker - it was a well documented issue over a bad print of Blue Hawaii - thankfully after several weeks the matter was resolved in my favour. It would be positive to hear other specifics from other collectors/dealers.

My problem with the mentioned person was the purchase from him, on eBay, of a Cineton P800 Super 8 projector in June 2012 which arrived in unworkable condition.

Hello fellow members and friends, lets now clear up a few things here once again on this fantastic forum i hold close to my heart.

There's always two sides to a story!

So i bought two cameras off Simon off eBay both being advertised as working (don't think i have ever dealt with him before)? Received both cameras one had batteries in it the other did not. But i had faith in the seller that both actually worked as per his description. After receiving both in one parcel. It appears that one was actually working but the viewfinder was defective (cannot see anything through the viewfinder) The second camera with out any batteries in it actually didn't work?

Naturally i wanted to return both cameras for a full refund plus return postage. Simon kindly refunded my money of the 1st of August via PayPal. Which i may add i am still waiting for. I have since spoken to PayPal over the weekend, who informed me that the refund can take up to 30 days.

So that's the state of play at the moment. It's a shame that Simon obviously has a problem with this. Instead decides to air is frustration and report this here on the forum. To the many small minded people that still use this forum.

Shame on you!!!

And Mr Guest if you want to put in your 2 penny's worth. Don't get me started as you unfortunately come into the same bracket of a seller who cannot be trusted. Regardless of what people think on this forum.

No shame at all as I refunded you. Don’t you ever say I’m a seller who cannot be trusted. I have done the decent thing.

I trust our paths will not cross again. End of.

Simon, you can't have it both ways? it's not about refunding me which i may add i am still waiting for. It's about being honest?

What i have done to make things easier for you. Since you ignored my previous email about returning both cameras to you if you pay the postage.

I have now started the process/request to return both cameras to you via the eBay return process.

Keep the cameras. I’m a man of my word so if no refund arrives let me know. Any delay in refund is now down to PayPal.

That seems a little strong, also appears to be aimed at all members.

Robert - specify clearly where I have not been honest? Both cameras worked well on leaving here. Batteries still inside (which I’d forgotten I’d left in) show I tested both. Had I not been honest, would I have refunded the next day?

Simon, Now if both cameras actually worked as you said they did as listed and as per your description, we clearly would not be having this conversation.

Nothing more nothing less.

As you clearly now don't want the cameras i will be taking these tomorrow to my local recycling tip.
