Exciting news that the next Bond film 'Eclipse' is being filmed in Panavision System 65 (Super 70) and some sequences in Imax 65. Think I am right in saying this will be James first appearance in a 65mm shot movie. The next Star Wars film is also in 65mm due out later this year.
Exciting times for film lovers.

Lee, I recall when Skyfall was released that a cameraman colleague of mine commented that now Bond had gone to digital capture, that the rest of the industry would take notice and follow.

Now, whilst I accept that parts of Skyfall did indeed benefit from the digital capture (dark stuff, digital is awesome), other parts failed miserably.

And whilst I also have the greatest respect for my friend, I knew he was wrong then and he admits he's partly wrong now (working in 4K sometimes just proves that film is the go to standard).

Long live film (and digital) used appropriately!

Funny old thing this not using film. Back when VHS and the other tape formats were about we never said analogue it was always video. Now the digital word is used but its still video.

Terrific news, especially if we are able to see a real film projection of the finished films. Dunkirk was simply awesome seen in IMAX 70mm film projection. Bring it on!
