Dat is a Pathe Vox 9.5mm optical sound projector made around 1938. Had several of these and if the gears are good and well looked after they are great machines. They dont however travel well in the post. Uncle Lee.

If it's optical sound -on-film , what are the double reels there for?

Anything is possible with a Pathe 9.5mm projector you should know that !
Not a good idea to do tricks like that chum with films no longer available.
I have had a few Vox machines in my time but sold the last one early this year I think it was, even turned down one at Harpenden last year for £25. The reason? I have kept my faves and do use the MK III Buckingham of which I think only a very small number were made (Slimline gold Elf) fitted with a zoom lens. Only have space for so much which is why so much 9-5 will be on my trade stand at Farnworth this weekend.
The 28mm collection has also bloomed this year but my 17.5 projectors and film have shrunk to make more space for the Children we are now fostering.
Did you get my email last week re Blackpool being a sellout for the Saturday meal? Not heard anything so wondered if you were still alive Graham.
