Hi all,

I recently acquired a new Gem projector.

Someone had lathered the machine in oil all over. I've managed to clean most of it and it's running very nicely with a few quirks I'm still ironing out.

One place I'm having trouble cleaning are the chrome wheels on the spool arms. Is there an easy way to take these off the machine for cleaning? The is oil beneath them meaning they struggle to run freely.

The projector is also currently Silver and gold (silver base and gate/ gold body and spool arms which rather comprimises Pathescopes lovely design.

I'd love to give it a fresh coat of paint, any advice on whether this is practical + if so what to watch out for when doing so.

Thanks for any advice,

John
