I'm wondering if anyone has any adaptations of A CHRISTMAS CAROL (silent or sound) on 9.5mm for sale or trade. Interested in all other film and video formats as well.

Would that be the 9-5 sound film you were looking for SCROOGE 1935? 2 X 800ft reels B&W 9.5mm Sound (6 reeler) Stars Seymour Hicks and Donald Calthrop Lovely version of the tale although quite edited down for 9-5. I sold my copy just before Christmas to a friend who wanted it as I had just located the full feature, but it is nice on 9-5 and shown that print oh so many times.

Thanks for your reply. To the best of my knowledge, the 1935 "Scrooge" with Seymour Hicks is the only version to be released on 9.5mm sound. I would be interested in the abridged version that you mention. Perhaps you could ask your friend if he would be interested in a trade for another version or versions. I'm sure that I could offer something unusual that might be of interest.
Do you know if the Hicks film was also released in an unabridged version on 9.5mm sound? If so, I would be interested in that as well. As you know, the Hicks version is not rare. I have it in other formats. I would just like to have it on 9.5mm as well.
Also, I seem to remember that at least one silent short version of "A Christmas Carol" was released on 9.5mm. Unfortunately, I can't recall which one. Help anyone?

Hi Fred Just gone in from a lengthy film pres so will keep it short.. You will only find the 6 reeler on 9-5 sound and only sold mine as now got on 16mm full length. Will keep an ear open for you though as the 9-5 six reeler does crop up from time to time. More later..
