Hello everyone,
I have been using an ELMO GS1200 for two years now. I purchased it at a local camera store here in New York and there was a question I had about it. I can not get the Optical sound exciter lamp to come on... even when I switch to "Optical" it stays dark. I bought a back up bulb and the same problem occurred. I do not have any optical sound films right now so I'm not too bothered by it... Do you need to play an optical film to have the bulb come on? That seems unlikely to me... is there a separate fuse for this bulb that could be the problem? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

You do not need to have a film threaded for the exciter lamp to come on. If your unit needs servicing, give Leon a call: 610-275-1225. His rates are very reasonable and he works very quickly. Good luck!
