Hi Colin! This should be pretty much easy to fix.
Remove the back cover of your unit after unplugging it from the mains. Look for the drive motor pulley and the main shaft as well; there should be no physical link between them at this point, i.e. the rubber belt should have torn apart.

If this is the case, you can solve it, by simply using a piece of tiny rope, or some sort of shoe strings to roughly assess what the original diameter of the blet was. Then go to a hardware store and ask for an O-ring appropriate for the task.
Installing this "replacement" might be a little more difficult: it depends on how the machine is engineered but you should hardly unscrew a couple of bolts, in the worst case. Can't be more helpful on this sorry, as I don't know the interior of this projector; but having a look at it should be pretty self-explanatory.
Cheers.

Yep! The belt has broken and this machine is prone to it.I have used replaceable 'weld your own' available in the Uk.Works wonders.Yes the 810MT is a brilliant machine.

Hi Colin,
You can get a belt or belts made up here:

www.isoplethics.co.uk/belts.htm

Give them a go.

Colin:Here is an update for you. When youcome to replace the belt.you will find life very easy if you remove the speed control module. You cant miss it as it sits rather inconveniently above the drive belt. This is removed (well to one side)by undoing two small screws on the circuit board. They are easily indentifiable so you will notbe harming anything.
This speed control module is pretty clever as you can totally eliminate any flicker you may encounter as it fine tunes the 18/24fps speed rate. There is another adjustment that controls the quartz-controlled speed section of the projector.
If your oprojector is running sweetly and without flicker when your belt is changed then leave well enough alone!Mine went wappy so needs must and all that and in the finished I had a better running 810MT than what I purchased!
One other thing, you will need to disconnect the internal speaker befor the back will come off completeley. These are just two push on connectors.
Hope this helps.
Baz. :p

Thanks everybody for your trouble shooting advice.
On inspection the belt is fully intact and in place, so this
can't be the problem.

Could the motor have burnt out? No movement at all.

Lamp and amp still functioning - the rest dead.
Any other ideas ?

Kind regards Colin

Colin:If the motor had burnt out then I reckon you most certainly would have encountered nasty smells of some sort.

Make sure the line fuse (if fitted) on the transformer tappings is good, also make sure none of the wires leading the the transformer have not gone dry.
Does the machine run when tou press FWD SLOW ?
Is the motor dead at both speed settings ?
As the projector seems tohave 'died' almost instantly I would say there is a connection problem.
Check also that the wires leading to the rotary selector switch are all intact as they can and do work loose/dry out.
Hope this helps. Please feel free to ask further either through these pages or via personal email.
Regards
Barry.
