If you're in the UK and planning to travel to Blackpool by train, I'd suggest buying tickets asap if you have not already done so. I bought mine on the Trainline website, but I've found none of the really cheap return tickets that used to come up. However, I got reasonably priced single tickets for both ways (£19 Friday, £14 Monday) but options are limited in terms of times unless you pay more. I'm travelling from East Croydon, but prices from London Euston are about the same or slightly more.
Strangely, most people I know who normally goes up on the Saturday (as well as myself) are going on Friday this year, so it's good news for the Blackpool economy!
