Does anyone know if Phil Johnson changed his web site address? I have not been able to reach it the last couple of times that I tried. I ordered a film from him in August, and received it very quickly, with no problems. I would like to order something else from him, if anyone has info on him, please help.

Nick.

Look at his site on the super 8 projector page. Find the ST1200HD with optical sound but the optical sound is not working. Then find the price. You have got to be kidding. You can find machines like that on Ebay and at a bargain price! Not intended to slam or flame Mr. Johnson...but really his prices....WHOA!!!

I have spoken with Phil before. He is a really nice guy. Now having said that...the Sankyo 800 stereo that you see on his site? I was bidding against him for that machine on Ebay. Well, I lost as you can see. [Smile] But the high bid ended up being something like $150. Pretty nice mark up but I remember him telling me that the price makes up for the others that are advertised as mint, working, etc. that ended up being a parts machine! Great site however and very informative! Hey...at least it promotes this great thing of ours! (Isn't that the meaning of the word "Mafia"?

I have purchased a couple of S8 features from Phil, and they were both absolutely mint. I think the thing with Phil is that you will probably pay a premium price for the item, but whatever you purchase will be in superb condition when you receive it. Yes Phil certainly marks up his projectors, but if you buy one from him you can be assured that it will work flawlessly. I visit Phils web site regularly- it is one of the best film sites on the web, with great graphics, and unlike others (such as Classic!) Phil actually updates his web pages very frequently.

Yes- Phil is very quick on the updates. When I purchased a digest from him recently, he had removed it from his site before the film had even gotten to my house! Very fast service as well. I've been eye-balling that print of the "Elephant Man" for a while. Maybe some day I'll buy it if its still there.

I have bought and traded with Phil for some twenty years - The man is among the finest dealers around - His material is as stated; mint, NM, whatever he says, it is - He has about three or four Std 8 Hoppys I want, when I can afford it - Great guy, always highly recommended - Shorty
