Hi everyone,

Have a slight problem with my S8 editor. When winding the film on it, the frame-line is in the middle of the screen. There is no frame adjuster on the editor, and I know it is nothing to do with the linement of the mirrors, so what would be in need of adjustment to bring the frame-line down to the bottom, would it be the shutter, the sprocket, or both. I noticed inside the editor the sprocket gear is the direct drive for the shutter gear.

Any pointers on how to fix would be well apprieciated. Thanks.

If it is like Elmo or Argus editors, and has a sprocket to the lower left of the film gate assembly, theere is a frame adjustment knob.

With a couple of fingers, give resistance to the sprocket while attempting to rotate the shaft that sticks out from the middle of the sprocket wheel. This is the frame adjustment on most editors. Rotate one direction to bring the frame down, or the other direction to bring it up. If the screen goes black slowly, you do not have enough pressure on the sprocket, hence the sprocket is rotating enough to run the shutter.

Both my ELMO 912 and HANIMEX E310 have the unmarked frame control button on the left(feed)sprocket wheel. You just have to push it in while slowly winding the film through to align your frame. Hope this helps. [Smile]
