Was this "Metor" released by MGM/AIP? Since other posts say that MGM released it in three parter but this is only two reels. Any missing reel here? or this is not MGMs and was originally released in two parter only.

By looking to the picture this is a clansheel case type.

Thanks for clarificartion.

I can only offer a guess here - but I think you're simply looking at the first 2 reels of another 3-parter, and the third reel is just plain missing. Also, looking at the subtitles (THE THREAT and THE LAUNCH) it seems to me that there's something missing - something like THE IMPACT, maybe - since the movie certainly wouldn't end before the big rock actually hits. Hi Winbert,

here is the copyright information on the german UFA Boxes which are the same prints (with german sound) like the US-Edition above
"Meteor (C) 1979 by American International Pictures, Inc. (?) 1978, 1980"

The films on your picture are two odd parts of the three parter.

This film was released as a 3 x 400ft. Its either got a part missing or has been squeezed onto two parts.(unlikley unless its 2 x 600)

If you all have confirmed that there was no two parter version of Meteor, so, I guess I need another one reel. Ooooo....another tough work...considering sending only one reel for the such high shipping cost to Fiji.

If you can tell me what is the title that is missing from mine. (or...THE IMPACT...as Jan's version??).

Andreas...do you have the missing one reel on German (or US) version for a price of shipping [Wink]

Does German version have the same edit with the US version?

BTW I am taking in once chance, could you translate me this:

"dann brauchen sie den Film nicht zu bezahlen ich nehme den Film dann raus"

I am cancelling a transcaction. and he answered that. Does it sound OK or what?. I have put it to altavista, and found a positive sentence. But, is that right for an original german ears?

Thanks

Hi Winbert,

- German version are US-prints like yours but with german sound, so it is the same edit. That was global sales of super8 films. One edit, one lab, different soundtracks, higher number of prints, cheaper production prices, higher profit for the distributors and majors. The edit was also available with spanish sound, same artwork cases as yours but with spanish text. The UFA-Artwork is different.

....hmm ... German ears would understand only if they hear the complete corespondence .... "you don´t have to pay the film. I will take off (out) the film." .... ????? Where take off (out)? I don´t understand..... [Confused]

- Sorry, I don´t have C condition third part for shipping costs. [Frown]

Winbert,

The third part of this Ken Films extravaganza is titled "The Collision". Not a very good edit job on this one. Here's the artwork for part three. It feels very strange to see the World Trade Center destroyed in this 1979 film.

"dann brauchen sie den Film nicht zu bezahlen ich nehme den Film dann raus"
- Andreas already translated this, but it sounds like the seller is talking about taking the actual reels out of their boxes (if you so request) and shipping the boxes to you only. It's a bit difficult to tell without having the entire context available here [Eek!]

And yeah, just seeing that image of the WTC being blasted is... *weird*. Shudder.

Great job, Andreas. Each collector can have their very own custom made cover!

*laughs* That's really cute, Andreas. [Big Grin] Actually I had to laugh at the cover image, too - all the actors look DRENCHED - it makes me wonder if that was in fact a huge WATER BALLOON crashing down from the sky, not a meteor!! [Big Grin]
