I have just recently received some footage i took with some Super 8 Kodacrome. Can you tell me the best way to clean this film? I have heard that WD40 does wonders but of course this was tested by Keith Wilton. Any other cheap methods would be of good use?

thanks

Rob.

WD40?? I don't know about that, but then I didn't read whatever you're referring to, so I can't comment on it.
If you want cheap (but effective), Goo-Gone is a good way to clean film. It won't lubricate or wax it, however. Really, I would recommend that you invest in at least a small bottle of actual film cleaner, such as FilmGuard.
Speaking of which, try searching the forums for "filmguard" and "filmrenew" ... and you should be hitting a lot of useful info about film cleaning in general. [Smile]
