I didnīt find "Tobruk" in the 1980 US-Universal 8 catalogue.
Was it offered in earlier U8-Catalogues or wasnīt release in the States or was it a Castle Films title?

Dear Andreas,

"Tobruk" was only ever released in Germany on 8mm, as their was no U.S. print made of this title.

That's strange! I've never heard of a Universal 8 (or Castle) title only released outside the US. Anyone know of any others?

Adrian,

They released in Germany only a double album from "Conquest Of The Earth", which was a cut from the cinema release of a couple of the defunct sequel to "Battlestar Galactica" called "Galactica 80".

"The incredible Hulk" was "available outside U.S.& Canada only" is stated in the U8-Catalog.

In Germany there was also released the double-album of
"Masada" (The Antagonists (UK))with Universal8-Logo.*

and yes
Galactica III (with Cinema International Corp. Logo and the Original Universal Studios Logo)

But I have heard about last issued german U-8 double-albums
Xanadu*,
The Island*,
Smokey and the Bandit I (no U8-Logo)
Smokey and the Bandit II*
that they are very different to the US-edits and on their boxes
arenīt U8-Logos.

* = The Universal8-Logo looks strange. Little bit greater

Here were also issued three double cartoon reels (with a overfilled 300 feet reel), which I didnīt found all in the US-Catalog.

for example:
Westernmelodie
("Mélodie de western" for the french market)
with
Cartoon 1: Slingshot 6 7/8
Cartoon 2: Puny Express => missing in US-Catalog

 -

But here was not released "Blues Brothers",
and we have only three 400 b/w sound releases from Universal8 horror classics [Frown]
