hi everyone!

My name is Boerre Saethre (..yup, I know we have strange names up here [Smile]

I´m a super-8 enthusiast. living in Oslo, Norway. I got into super-8 in my late teens while taking filmclasses in art school. Over the years I developed a passionate relationship with everything ELMO, and have ended up with a nice little family including five ST-1200´s in different versions, and two GS1200´s. A friend told me about you guys, and after dabbling around in here as a guest for some time now, I decided to try to join the club.. and - so, here I am! [Smile]

I have been getting a lot of useful information from you guys, and I hope to be able contribute to this community as well.

Thanks for taking me along!

all the best from Norway -

Boe.

Hi Boerre, welcome, and great to have more new blood to the Hobby, and an Elmo boy to [Wink]
Do you have any idea how 8mm is in Norway, i.e are there any conventions or get togethers at all?

Hi Boerre and wellcome. Glad you like the Elmo's. Yes give us some information about 8mm in Norway. The wife and me visited Oslo for the day on a Baltic cruise. I must say that the transport system in Oslo was very good. We also went to the Viking Museum.

Welcome, Boerre!

Have a seat - make yourself comfortable - and pay no attention to the loony folks that wander the halls of this forum. (Myself included) [Big Grin] Above all, remember... SUPER 8 LIVES!!

Welcome to this great forum, Boerre. You don't have to be crazy to join this "Fellowship of the Reels", but it sure does help. [Big Grin]

thanks a lot guys!

Norway is a pretty slow place for super-8 ( and for a lot of other things as well..), people are all into LCD and DLP stuff here, and words like ´ELMO´ doesn´t really wake any enthusiasm around [Frown]

I placed a post on a local site for vintage photo/film collectors, ending up getting ONE answer - from a guy wanting to swap vintage super-8 porn. I always suspected there were certain aspects of perversion to my super-8-obsession [Big Grin] , but this particular person somehow seemed to have another agenda than me..

As for conventions, I haven´t come across anything like that over here. In other words, I´m happy to have found my gang [Smile] !

Thanks again for the warm welcome!

Boe.

Hi, Boerre, you're always welcome here. [Smile] There is not much in the way of 8mm locally in the Southeastern US either. Thanks to the internet, Great Britain, Germany, France, Italy, Australia, and eBay(hope I didn't leave anyone out), super eight is still poppin'. [Cool]

Can't add much to what's already been said, except have fun, and laugh AT us as well as WITH us. [Roll Eyes]

We're all a bit crazy as you will have gathered by now. [Big Grin]

Enjoy!
