Hi all,
At last i have now placed the official order for 25 pairs,(1 of each 24 and 18 FPS) rubber wheels for the Elmo 1200's.
The final price for a pair will be £14.00 per pair plus P+P.
It may be a few weeks, possibly a month to when they will be ready but the order is definately now in and they will be manufactured.
Please note, these are only the rubber wheels and not the whole units. As previously mentioned, Mr Parsons did take the prototype sample from me and reported back and was very positive so i no the quality is excellent. They will certainly help keep our projectors going. I will hopefully try and do another FFTC article but i know i am too late for the next edition.
Hope this is good news for many on here. [Wink]

Fantastic, just in time. I've realized once again that my ST-1200HD runs rock-steady at 18fps (small wheel) but the larger 24fps wheel is smooth as baby skin so the projector loses speed more easily under load. This replacement should take care of it. [Smile]

Jan ,your comment gives me the chance to express my personal experience according to which a bad contact between shutter and rubber wheels results an instability when load increases, but the low torque of a worn spring -the one placed above the wheels- can also contribute to this.

Tassos,

thanks for the advice - but yes, I've already checked that spring and it appears to have proper tension, after all it should be the same tension whether the projector is in the 18fps or 24fps setting. Since the 18fps speed is not prone to slippage but the 24fps speed is, that leaves the wheel as the only cause...

Jan, your description clearly shows you're right in my opinion. By the way, I think you could give me some advice about another technical matter, so please have a look at my new topic regarding my st1200.
