My friend just order new trailer from Derann and apparently it has to be ordered first.
1. Does it mean Derann has to order the lab to print it? 2. If that happen how many print they have to make in one batch? 3. Is there 8mm stock now or do they have to use 16mm? So it means at least they have to make two prints at the same time. It is so uneconomical if because one order then Derann has to make two prints at the same time?
Can someone explain please?

Winbert, Just changed enw to new in your post as it looked at first like the initials for a film name.
If Dearnn are out of stock then yes they would have to place an order on the lab for some more copies. Yes I think they are printed 2 up so they would order in multiples of 2 copies and then keep one on the shelf or more if it's a popular title.
I would think that older titles where sales have fallen off would probably not be reordered unless someone orders a copy and as I say the extra copy would be kept on the shelf for a future sale.
I'm sure Adrian or Gary would be able to give a more definitive answer.
Kev.

Dear Winbert
We always attempt to keep new films in stock, although this is not always possible, of course. Where new films are out of stock, we can usually supply within four weeks. It is true that we have to order an even number of prints as the laboratory use 16mm film stock and produce two 8mm prints side by side, which we then sound stripe, record and split)
