Just curious, [Roll Eyes] did this 1982 film ever make it onto Super8, as it would have made an excellent Scope/ stereo release.

Graham.

Graham,

You can find a nice trailer (flat) to this on a couple of sci-fi themed reels, but no 8mm feature I'm afraid. I do believe when Derek had his deal with Warners he asked about it, but Warner Bros. only distributed it, as it was a Ladd Company film, and they didn't have the 8mm rights. Shame I'm like you, I'd have loved to see a feature of this on 8mm (whatever version!).

I agree Barry. This was an almost poetic sci-fi film, which is ageless. It really hasn't aged in the least, which many an 80's sci-fi has.

Though DVD is not my first love. An EXTREME special edition of "BladeRunner" will be coming out on DVD, I believe, in the fall. It will boast THREE different versions of the film, as well as fabled deleted scenes, documetaries, ect.

I'm not sure, but I think it will be put out by Criterion
DVD.
