Hi all (Andreas, Ebenhard, Joerg and those from German)

I've just received 2 titles from German "De Witte Godin Bij De Kannibalen" and "Robin Hood Met Errol Flynn". Both are 3 x 400".

I noticed that the 2 films are on Fuji stock, however the colours are not strong, they are very pale and warmth.

The funny thing was at "Kannibalen", the opening logo (UFA) was green as the green should be.

Does it mean that the warmth comes from the negatives and there is no point for me to search a good colour?. Have you ever seen those titles in good colour?

Finally, do you think the Robin Hood (UFA) has the same cut with those from Derann (3 x 400)?

cheers,

Hi Winbert, did the seller tell you the colours were like that, or did you get them really cheap.
Best Mark.

Hi Mark, I got them in one lot (from Ebay Belgium).

9. The Jerk (2 X 400, Piccolo) EUR 8.00
10. Bruce Lee. (2 X 400, Piccolo) EUR 10.00
11. Ijsstation Zebra (3 X 400, UFA) EUR 12.50

16. Bruce Li Karate (3 X 400, Piccolo) EUR 12.75
17. White Fang Met Franco Nero (3 X 400, Cmv EUR 12.00
18. Winnetou 2 Met Lex Barker (3 X 400, Marketing Films) EUR 15.75
19. Jessy Black Christmas (3 X 400, Marketing Films) EUR 8.00
20. Terence Hill & Bud Spencer Western (3 X 400, UFA) EUR 8.00
21. Romy Schneider & Rod Steiger (3 X 400, UFA) EUR 12.00

Can Andreas or Ebenhard perhaps tell me if the above are a good deal?

However, due to the large number of reels I did not ask any specific question.

So, Andreas, taking that the first reel of "Kannibalen" when UFA logo comes out is just good, do you think that the warmth colour came from the negative and it does mean I would never got any good prints? please your opinion.

cheers,

Andreas, you are quite right about the reels, I was just confused with the lot. so it should be:

3. The Outcast (3 X 400, UFA), EUR 8.50 ---> is Western movie MET JOHN DEREK , JOAN EVANS , JIM DAVIS.
15. Louis Funes & Bourvil (2 X 400, Marketing Films) EUR 8.00
16. Bruce Li Karate (2 X 400, Piccolo) EUR 12.75
19. Jessy Black Christmas (2 X 400, Marketing Films) EUR 8.00
20. Terence Hill & Bud Spencer Western (2 X 400, UFA) EUR 8.00

quote:
The titles says, that you got in from netherland?

No..they are all from Belgium, a seller who runs a film company. The films are all good, no scratch at all, even some are still sealed. The only problem that though some are on Fuji Stock but the colours are pale. Those on AGFA also show colour degradation. Only Terence Hill & Bud Spencer Western that satisfying me and of course those from Marketing.

Joerg,

quote:
Green UFA logo?!?!
What I meant was the background and not the actual logo. It was white UFA logo with green background.

The green is just like this:

 -

But when it goes to the film it is not that strong.

So do you think it becuase the negatives and it means all the same title will be like that?

thanks,

Andreas,

Based on my research at imdb the Outcast with those 3 actors is here.

Andreas can you tell me the only my question that hasn't been answered, any possibility to get "Die weiße Göttin der Kannibalen" with strong colour?

(I got one Bruce Lee "Shanghai" aka "Fist of Furry" with a very strong colour and this is what I expected)

thanks,

Hi ANdreas...you are quite right!

I have double checked and the Outcast is not from UFA but Techno Films (Italy). I don't know what stock they use as it is only "SAFETY appears between the sprocets.

cheers,

Hi,

only one of my colour-UFA-films still has got the original leader. And in that film the UFA-logo is shown on a dark blue background. And I don't know if any of the earlier films ever had a green background!? (Andreas? Eberhard?)

If the film only shows "safety", it was most likely made by Kodak. The dot in safety will give you details about the plant that made the stock:

(There are some links to further information on that page, too.)

Hi Andreas,

you are right. I remember the the U.F.O. films on S8 by Ufa/Techno. All prestriped films are fading/come red.

I' ve the four U.F.O. films in my filmstock and they still hold their colors. All four prints are striped after processing, because they have only the mainstripe.

Greetings

Ralf
