Hello there,

I've got a slight problem with my Eumig Mark DL... the film is kind of jumpy. The problem seems to be centered around the take-up sprocket.

I'm able to stop the jumpiness by applying slight pressure to the take-up sprocket with my finger, and also by applying slight pressure to the pressure guide on the take-up sprocket. In addition, I can turn the frame adjustment knob all the way to the right, and that steadies things...unfortunately though, that cuts the frame in two.

btw, I have it set up for super 8 , with the light grey sprocket drums.

Any thoughts on the matter would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Edward

Welcome to the Forum, where we all try and help each other solve their Projector problems.

This is just an initial stab in the dark, but 1 of the 1st things to check is wether there is a Fluffball of hairs on the tip of the claw.
A slow buildup of hairs, one by one, will eventually result in an unsteady picture & other annoying effects.

As well as cleaning the claw tip, give the entire film gate & pressure plate a good spray with evaporative cleaner, to make sure it is all spotlessly clean.

See if that makes any difference and let us know the result.

well, I went over it all & it's pretty clean. It seems to be more a problem of something being out of line by just a tiny fraction of an inch.

Hi Edward
Next, check to see if it forms 2 good loops and manages to keep the loops without loosing any frames when its playing. Try increasing the size of the top loop to see if that makes any difference.
Look to see if the pressure plate is moving or vibrating when the picture is jumpy. See if it steadies when you apply a bit of finger pressure to the plate.
