In the late 1970's the manufacturers seemed to think Super 8 users wanted complete hands-off projectors and started trying to sell cartridge loaders. This one seems to have been for educational/trade use but from the cut price in this advert it didn't catch on there more than with home users.

In the early 1970s, Eumig sold the AV 711, AV 711R and AV 720 Electronic which seem to have been for cartridges. Only 1,000 of the latter were produced. Might the Mark S 720 have been the AV 720 model re-badged?

Just to put those prices into context, the £239 "list price" was the equivalent of around £1,280 in today's money. Even the "best ever price" equates to about £480 now.

I had bought a Mark 710D in 1973/4 for about £80, so that decrease put it near their other model prices.
