Just wondering if any forum members use earphones when watching their super 8 films. If I am viewing films alone I will always use my wireless earphones, because the fidelity and stereo separation is so much better than with my Dolby 5.1 system. When listening through phones to re-recorded stereo on my Eumig 938 the sound is a revelation, so I love using phones particularly for musical pictures.
That's the funny thing about phones, even a $50.00 set of phones will sound so much better than a $1000.00 stereo system.

I tend to agree - although these days I only use 'cans' when playing in the back garden ('Er Indoors gets worried about noise - and the neighbours get worried 'cos they can see the pic but can't hear anything! I guess I can't win!!) BUT I still like to use them. Cheers!

Hi Paul,

I will use headphones when I have the projector on the workbench and I'm tinkering around/cleaning/testing but in the screening room I always run it through the amp and speakers.

Being that I live in a condo, I sometimes use headphones if it's late at night and I'm watching something like SPEED so as not to cause a disturbance. My choice of headphone is the Sony MDR-7506. What kind do you like to use, Paul?

Hi Mike,
I use a pair of Sony MDR-RF930 wireless headphones, which are very comfortable and have great sound. I am thinking of trying out some noise cancelling phones.

Great idea, Paul. They remove all those annoying comments and instructions from other people in the house!

Due to renovations our back porch became part of the main house and I've wound up with a TV set planted 10 feet behind my projectors.

I wish I could get them to wear headphones!

I almost always wear headphones when I watch films, usually because it's either a Friday or Saturday night, and my set-up is in my unfinished basement (which I plan to convert to a full-fledged home cinema in the next year or two).

Given I'm usually watching monster/horror films, my family complains (jokingly) that they usually hear the roar of the monsters or the screams of the victims emanating from the basement. As a result, I usually plug in the ole headphones!
