December 5th and 6th 2009
Bolero Resort 3320 Atlantic Ave. Wildwood,NJ

What is it?
It is an event that is solely for film collectors. All gauges will be represented. No more will you have to
fight past crowds surrounding a washed up 70s sitcom star, or pass miles of dealer tables filled with action figures, toys and other items unrelated to film. This is about 8mm, 16mm, 35mm film and equipment. It’s a chance for collectors to get together for a weekend of buying, swapping showing and talking about films. This will be the only such show in the US.
Why?
I put on shows in the 90s, where I had to bring in guest stars and toy dealers, the film guys were kind of buried in the crowd. I had to bring these people in to cover the cost of the show. I collect film and I always wanted to have just a film show, but cost wise, I couldn’t make it work. Thanks to the great people at the Bolero Resort, I can finally try to bring to the US what the UK collectors have had for years, a true film show. Because of my arrangement with the Bolero, I don’t have to have hundreds of customers at the door. This isn’t a walk in show, it is only for film collectors.
What if I want a dealer table?
6 foot dealer tables are available for $20 a table. You can rent as many as you like. Compared to other shows, this is the lowest price of any show.
Can I bring film and not get a table?
Sure, at a film show, everyone loads up their cars with film to swap and sell. There is so much film, you’ll be tripping over reels!

Can I attend and not get a room?
Certainly, admission for the event for people not staying there is $5 for both days. No need to get a room if you don’t have to.
Any special events?
Well, Sunday we will have an auction. Anyone who wants to put film in the auction is welcome to. We will have an area to ourselves Saturday night for socializing and a bar for libations.(We will try to get warm ale for the UK collectors!)
What hours are the show days?
Saturday, the hours are 10-7, Sunday is 10-5. We might be able to have Saturday night screening, we’re still working on that.
Will there be posters or DVDs?
Yes, if a dealer brings film, he can also bring posters and DVDs. There will be NO dealers without film.

What are the Hotel rates?
By mentioning the film show when making reservations, your room, which is normally $130, will only be $85 per night. The room will have 2 king beds, sofabed, television and more. The show will be right above the Blue Water Grill, a fine restaurant and bar. For information on the Hotel, www.boleroresort.com.
How do I get there?
By air, you can arrive via either Atlantic City International airport or Philadelphia International. Wildwood is only 40 minutes from Atlantic City if you feel like night life Saturday night.
By car, from north; Take the Garden State Parkway to Exit 4 south, follow approx. 3 miles to Atlantic Ave. Make left on Atlantic until you see The Bolero on the left.
South; I-95 or RT. 13 to Delaware Memorial Bridge, follow Rt40 to Rt55 south, follow to end,Rt47 south to Wildwood, follow same directions as north at that point.
East; Walt Whitman Bridge to Rt42, follow to Atlantic City Expressway, follow to Exit 7 south, Garden State Parkway. Follow same directions as north.
What if I need more info?
You can email me at; johnnyraoul@netzero.net. If you leave a number, I will call you back.

So I hope we can have a great show, if the turnout is good, I will try to have this show twice a year.

Sadly way too far/expensive for me, as tickets from Norway to the US vary from 1500 to 4000 dollars [Razz]

Good luck tho, don't forget to take loads of pictures! [Wink]

I would love to be able to get over there, and was seriously considering it - however I have a show in Ireland around that time which makes it unfeasible now.

I am looking forward to some serious photos though!

Family functions and the holiday season will not allow me to attend. Regretfully. John I am sorry perhaps another time if this one is successful.

As feared, my wife's biggest catering gig of the year is that very day (Christmas season is extremely busy for us).

Since the event is only about three hours from where I live, I may try to "slip away" for a few hours. I'm still working on that [Wink] .

Is there ANY chance that it could be after the Christmas season (January-March would be great!) I would SO love to attend.

James.

I would love to see future festivals such as this myself. I do live on Cape Cod Massachusetts and the Fall or Spring would be off season rates.

I also think one of these festivals would be grand in Florida, in Orlando or Daytona Beach. I will be there next April I'd be willing to look into getting some rates. If someone could fill me in on what would be required.....
