Hi all,

It is quite annoying for me when I received my last cartridges of E64T processed by Dwayne coming in a little bluish (cool tone) for outdoor shooting (in a full sunshine day). My camera is Minolta XL 64 and the built in outdoor filter (85) is on (normal/OK). So this is not about wrong setting between indoor and outdoor filter.

From previous thread, I was told that the best filter to be used for E64T (Super 8mm) is Wratten 85B instead of 85. I have been searching all place but I did not find it while I need it urgently now.

While I was cleaning my camera, I found a Hoya filter with "Skylight (1B)" written on the edge. I put it on white paper and it does seem a little bit reddish (just a little).

So, can I place this overlapping with built in outdoor filter in my camera to get color corrected, so I get warmer color tone?

thanks for your reply.

regards,

winbert

Winbert, do you have another camera to try?

The existing filter should be fine with 64t, I have found the colour of 64t excellent when shot with my Canons and other brands. From memory I tested a Minolta with 64t and it turned out with good colour - it must have been OK as I sold it as tested and working.

Most of my 64t has been processed here in Australia; Dwaynes do my Kodachrome.

Hi David,

I have another camera, Magnon. But this also gave a bluish (a little) tone. I have mad a thread particular about it here:

http://8mmforum.film-tech.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=003911#000013

and Joerg advise me to use Wratten 85B.

For me if I am using built in filter (which is 85), it tends to be (a little) bluish, not as natural as Kodachrome used to be.

cheers,
