Im not sure if anyone could help me here but take a look at the video on youtube of the EumigS926.

I know its not possible to give a full diagnosis as to whats wrong with the machine through a video but could someone throw some light as to what the problem with the take up spool might be?

PS The take up spool runs fine in reverse if thats any help

From what is possible to see, it seems there is a problem with the clutch: have you tried tightening the screw on the spring? Perhaps it is just slipping.

No wonder it works in reverse: the spindle is different (it is the outer one: in forward mode only the inner, larger section of the spindle must rotate, but from the video it is not easy to say if this happens...).

Can you shoot some more footage (perhaps sharper and steadier...)?

Hi Maurizio,
I did play around with the screw on the spring, ( if its the silver thing in front of the spring itself) but no joy. i wound it fully in to compress the spring and fully out aswell but no diff.
This machine may well go to a forum member who can rescue it and make it good because I have no clue as to fix it, shame realy ,I was hoping I could use it.

HI, John,

I really wish I could do something, in fact I have a Eumig 926 which I used to employ as stereo amp-unit for my Fumeo 9120 (now sold). Presently the 926 is well... a "donor".

So if you can't find further advice from the forum, you may consider sending it to me. Sorry but I have no clues: the assembly encompasses quite a number of gears and probably some of these have to be replaced but it's just guesswork. Could you shoot a few seconds of video of the inner works of this area, while running the prj for a few seconds in FWD and in reverse? Please use a tripod and focus on the gears; I guess you can leave the lamp off: light the area with a desklamp so that all the details show properly on the monitor. Prj speed best at 18 fps.

Hi John
A perplexing issue but this fault is usually easy to fix.
I had a similar one last week that was the same.
The larger spindle that is not turning, should be free to pop out again when pushed in by hand. About 1mm of spring loaded movement. If it doesn't spring out freely when depressed, it means its tight on its inner axle or boss. This will then prevent it turning & the clutch will be forced to slip.
Spray pentrating oil behind the plastic spindle collar and turn it by hand till it finally frees up. Avoid spraying oil on the clutch pack.
When its free again it will again slide in and out about 1mm. Then it will also resume turning & take up will occur normally.
There is no need for dissassembly of anything.
Try it and let us know how you went.

I've recently serviced the rear take-up on my Eumig 938. I know it is different mechanically but this was sticking and slowing also. Disassembled the little arm and cleaned it of the old waxy, hard grease and re-greased with the silicon gell. Only problems are the usual one of screws that won't budge and the dreaded circlips ( sirclips?) so WD40 required but now works perfectly.
