quote: I had a Bauer T600 where the motor ran off of the hertz. It was set at 50hz and I couldn't change it so....the 18fps ran at 25fps. Its a small difference but I am a musician and am really sensitive to pitch. It was just fast enough that it bugged me. So I have to stick with machines made for the US.
I understand that is from an old thread, but since I just noticed it that you are saying 18 fps ran at 25 fps... is this a typing error or that is the case. Because it is not a small difference though, if that is the real case.

Hi Winbert, No its not a typo! It was designed for the European market so even though I was able to set the switch so it could be run off of US Voltage the speed was never correct. It ran a little faster than 24fps. I noticed it right away and could not change the pitch so I ended up selling it.

thanks Alan,
While you are here, because I might buy a GS-1200 from US which is 110v/60hz if I bring it home to my country which is 220v/50hz(of course I need a step down transformer), what about with the cycles. Is there a pulley that we can use to get the right speed at 60hz like what we have at ST-1200?

Well...to paraphrase the great Kev:
" Europe uses 50Hz as does the UK and of course the US has 60HZ. Most projectors which use electronic speed control will happily run on either 50 or 60 without any need for change. The GS comes into this category. " Also the GS has a speed adjustment so even if it didn't you could tune it by ear!
