Just like I planned, I shot three reels during May, one at an annual Liberation day service and the remaining two at our National holiday celebrations.

As before, both processing and scanning/digitalization was done by Dwaynes in Kansas.

The results can be seen here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R7LejdJpxVg (Liberation day, one reel)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GIIupjZZPrA (National holiday, two reels)

(PS! These were just uploaded to YouTube so the quality will improve. HD version should work in an hour or two)

Well who’s on first? Yeah. Go ahead and tell me. Who. The guy on first. Who. The guy playin’ first base. Who. The guy on first. Who is on first! What are you askin’ me for? I’m askin’ you!

Hi Christian,

Nice shoots especially compared to your first one during last winter.

What filter did you use (the internal one or external 85B)?

I always try to avoid long shoot because picture can be really shaky with small camera. My only critisism to your shoot on Liberation day is you took to many scenes from back side so we cannot see the face of people (i.e their natural smilling) during that day. [Wink]

Keep shooting my friend,

Thank you, Winbert, I was really satisfied with the result! [Smile]

Yes, it was quite shaky on the long shoots, I noticed that aswell, but it was really hard getting close to the parade without disturbing them, so I went with the zoom lens.

The reason that I didn't film their faces on liberation day was that I didn't want to disturb the service/events going on, as the camera is quite loud [Razz]

I used the internal filter, haven't bought my external filter yet [Smile] Hopefully I'll get around too it before my next shoot (bought 4 new cartridges along with the four I processed).

Christian,

It's good seeing someone using real film. The colors are very vibrant and the clarity is excellent. As Winbert noticed, the zoom shots were shakey, but you did steady them quite well. Have you thought about incorporating a light weight tripod for those zoom shots? Pans should be used very sparingly and slow. I noticed you didn't dwell on still shots, which is good also. You might consider using a portable sound recorder to capture live action sound. They don't necessarily have to be in sync, except for dialogue.

Keep it up! Love the song on the first one. Very touching. [Smile]

Thanks, Dan! [Wink] I really enjoy shooting with real film, I find it alot more fun than shooting with digital, which I also do alot.

I have a tripod, but it's an old and heavy one, so I rarely bother dragging it with me unless I'm gonna be stationary for most of the shoot [Smile]
