I have a Eumig S 807 D. I believe it is the newer version. It was purchased in 1987. I can hear the amp clear and clean when I turn up the volume, but when I run a sound film there is no sound from the magnetic heads. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Dan,
The 807 D is the dual version, and on this machine there should be a switch inside the front cover to switch between the two sound track positions for Standard and Super 8. Have you got it in the right position for the film you are using?
If neither position works... suspect the sound head itself or the pressure pads that press the film onto the head in the Forward mode.

Martin,

The switch is in the correct position. I'll check the pressure pads.

Okay, I have checked the pressure pads and they look like they are pressing. In the stop position I slide the std 8 and super 8 sound mode switch back and forth and there is a change in the type amp sound in the speakers, so I believe it is working. When running a super 8 sound film I tap the sound head with a non magnetic probe and do not hear any tapping sounds coming from the speaker. Sounds like the sound heads are not coming on. Nothing appears to be disconnected. So far I can't find the wires that are connected to the sound head without going deeper into the machine.

Should I post a pic of the inside?
