What are the differences between the 702 and the Stereo 800 Sankyo models?

The former has twin track sound, the latter has stereo sound and 150 W lamp (not sure if the 700 has 100 or 150 W lamp).

What's the difference between twin track sound and stereo?

What's the point of a second track other than for balance?

For sound editing (for example). Music on one, commentary on other. Compiling sound track by adding effects while transferring from one to the other. Two different languages. Etc, Etc.
Tracks can be played separately or both together... but not as Stereo, which would require two record and two replay amplifiers.

Ah, of course. Now that you say it, it seems obvious.

Thanks, Martin.
