Just wondering if any of you good folks have replaced a projector bulb with an LED setup? I just toasted my last DLH bulb (B&H 466a)and will not be buying anymore. If someone has come up with a viable alternative I would certainly be interested. Not sure why, but out of all of my projectors (B&H, Sankyo, Keystone,etc.),this particular model (466a) has gone through 3 bulbs in the past year. I have an old keystone 100 that hasn't popped a bulb in 3 years.

I've been thinking about this as well. They would not put out very much heat and there are some very bright lights out there now. Vision X makes some very bright ones that are used on vehicles and run on 12V DC. I have seen these on some off road vehicles and a Vision X light bar can put out an amazing amount of light. The powerful ones are not cheap but they keep coming down in price. Even some of the battery powered flash lights that are coming out now are getting very bright. thanks Bryan,,,I've looked at the site you mentioned, then found a bulb over at Dealextreme part #44176. It claims to be 750LM (6500K). 12V 10w,,,I know it will be super bright but just not sure on the throw. I guess the best thing to do is just buy one,,,and share my experience.

This one has a 10 degree spot beam.

The housing is 2" x 2". That is a housing meant to be mounted on a vehicle, you could take the guts out of it and have something smaller. It is kind of expensive though. If you dig around on their web site you may find something cheaper.
