Hello. I have recently bought an Elmo Long Play Unit from the german seller Mirko Jovanovic (ebay nick; audirtdi). He sold it as in good shape, and the price was 450 euros plus shipping. He sent it to a wrong buyer. Poor communication, and after two weeks, he tells me doesn´t know where it is. He sent me a name and address in Spain after refusing a refund or a change (So I have to wait if he solved his problem). I begin to look after the item in internet and calling the courier telephones (with my money). I got the phone with the help of some good persons. The other person who received it, is a member of the spanish supe 8 site, so I send an expedition to pick up the parcel. I ask the seller to refund me the money. More than a week I got it. I tell him the Long Play Unit doesn´t work. Of course he says, it was working perfectly when it was in Germany. the courier or the other spanish super 8 fan, must be the guilty in this story, as he explains to me. And yes, this is another story, as many seen everyday on ebay, about a guy who sells expensive junk. So I want to share this experience with you, to avoid buying to the wrong people.

File complaints with your credit card if you used one. If not go to ebay and paypal for refunds.

Not to slam German sellers, more of a coincidence really, but several years back I purchased a series of WWII S8 films listed as new in the box from a German seller. Actually the gent was nice to deal with and made me feel right at home with transferring funds oversees.

What I received did appear to be new in the box but they wouldn't play on either our GS1200 or our 610D. Usually one or the other will play just about anything. Most of the films sounded as if the sprocket holes weren't quite the correct spacing. A couple of the eight or so films purchased did play fine but the majority didnt.

On top of the auction fees I paid a lot for overseas S&H, but the seller was prompt. So In the end I just chalked it up to bad luck on my part and left is as such.

I know that my comments in no way help with your frustration, you spent a tidy sum on that projector. Nontheless I feel your pain and understand your disappointment. I figure that if we play the game long enough eventually we're going to get burned. I'm sorry it happened to you on what would have been a nice piece of hardware.

Regards, John

Hello. I don´t want to fall into topics. I do this, because this seller, sold it as new and it had a expensive price. It is junk by the moment. This seller is listing more articles a high prices. In this forum a lot of people will read this.

Thanks for the warning, Oscar. I guess I shouldn't feel too bad about my worst eBay experience, at a total loss of $45.

Hello,

I know Mr. Jovanovic and I can confirm that he is not a trustworthy person. In fact, the person you are dealing with is not Adrian Jovanovic but Dragan Jovanovic, his father. Dragan Jovanovic is a professional movie projectors, cameras and equipment dealer, whom I have seen very often on the film fair in Waghäusel. He is known for offering overpriced items and he often claims them as being "brand new", which in fact is mostly not true.

Best Wishes

Heinz-Juergen

Good luck Oscar, I hope it comes right for you, and I hope the seller gets a touch of deceny about him.

Heinz was once very helpful to me on some junk I was sold from a dodgey ebay seller in Germany.Helped translate and adivse etc so I at least secured some of the cash back thankfully.

Most people in Germany are very friendly, honest and helpful indeed, and Heinz being the best I ever dealt with there.( Thanks Heinz )

That is serious money Oscar, how did you pay ???

Best Mark.

If you paid via Paypal you are covered, to the extent that Paypal may be able to withdraw the money form the sellers account and give iit back to you before you even have to send the item back. Please look into it on either the Ebay site where you bought the item or thru Paypal, its there to protect you from sellers sending bad items or offering a poor service. Cheers

I recently had a bad experience on Ebay where the seller never shipped the item to me. Finally I sent him an e-mail that said "I'm leaving bad feedback tonight if you don't refund the money". I got my money back right away. E-bay has ways of dealing with people like this, just make sure you don't wait too long. I think you have 30 days to file a complaint and at least 60 days to leave feedback.

definitely pursue your rights to a full refund. One of the few great things about ebay is that they have very secure rights for the buyer. At times, it seems like the buyer has more rights than the seller, so you should have no problem getting your money back.

But most importantly, when you pursue this, PLEASE take all coorespondences between yourself and this "seller" and include them in your complaint. Otherwise, it can be a case of "he said/she said" and you could lose, so compile all those records.

I hope to heck that you have them all, and not just "cut and pasted" but the actual e-mails back and forth, because when you pursue this kind of thing, you need the whole e-mails as each and every e-mail has it's own "code" (so to speak) that is a uniquw identifying mark. By this, ebay will know that your not just manufacturing something but are sending actual verifiable evidence about your claims.

I hope this helps and great good luck on this. You should be able to get your whole financial loss back!
