I know for the extremely long films like Ben Hur or Gone with the Wind, these two film is exceptional, where the brand new price were far expensive than other films.

But I am asking films such Disney features those were mostly timed around 70 minutes (3 x 600'), were they priced by Derann cheaper than other features like Die Hard, Fugitive, Speed those were 90s minutes (5 x 400') duration?

thanks

I think the Disney features were a bit more expensive than others of around the same length - probably because of the expenses and royalties involved - but still cost significantly less new than features that were in the region of two hours long.

Just to fuel the discussion here, features released by Film Office were priced "by the meter", the longer the film, the more expensive it was. Even 400ft reels had different prices. For instance, the "Son of Kong" cut-down was 413 ft and was more costly than the King Kong New York scene which was 347ft long (but both were sold on 400ft reels).

That's quite fair, JM

Anybody still remember when WHDM sold "Sorcerer Appprentice" which was full 200 feet compared to other Disney releases which were around 160 feet, was priced differently?
