I recently purchased a Bolex Paillard 18-5 Auto. Unfortunately the power socket has been smashed, but after some quick examinations and a temporary power solution, I switched it on.
The first good news, the bulb works. My main issue at the moment is that the mechanics seemed to have completely seized. It's nigh on impossible to turn manually without a great deal of leverage.
I've done some exploring, disconnected the three O-Rings and also checked that the reel chain and arms turn okay. With the O-Rings removed, the motor and fan turn great.
So I'm down to the upper and lower sprockets, the inching mechanism, the worm screw or the heat filter system.
I can't work out how to dissemble any of the gearing and so I'd appreciate any help you guys can offer.
Also, if anyone has ideas on where to find a spare power socket and how to fit it? It appears to require a complete strip down which I'm not keen on doing.
