Hello! I'm very new to collecting Super8 films. Ahhh, I can remember the clickety-clack sound of my cousin's projector as we would watch cartoons on my grandmother's fridge. Oh, the good ole days.

Anyway, I'm also a Walt Disney World fanatic and I'm looking for particular films (with boxes in great shape) from back in the day. I've listed them on the Wanted forum, but I'll go ahead and list them here also...

701 Vacation Wonderland at Disney World
726 An Evening at the Magic Kingdom – Walt Disney World
731 Vacation Kingdom at Walt Disney World
737 Fantasyland at Walt Disney World

I'm fortunate enough to have the Attraction Highlights 1 and 2 which are my prize because they show my two favorite attractions on the boxes...the Haunted Mansion on one and Space Mountain on the other.

I'm needing help. I know that ebay is a great place to find some films. But I thought I'd ask the experts if there's any other avenue out there that might help me find these films that I'm looking for. Is there an 8mm marketplace on the web of different shops that don't\can't list all of what they got, but can check if I send an email?

I can just sit and wait for ebay, but I'm more of a proactive type of guy. Love the hunt!

Any advice would be deeply appreciated.

Thanks,
Brian

Brian,

Welcome to the Forum! Phil Johnson's website has one of the titles you're looking for.

An Evening at the Magic Kingdom

Paul Foster's UK site has Vacation Kingdom at Walt Disney World. Scroll down to the bottom of the page.

And what projector will you be screening these with?

Doug

Doug and Jean-Marc, thanks for the info. I really appreciate it. Yeah, Jean-Marc, it's your listing that lead me to this site.

Doug, I don't have a projector yet. Right now I'm collecting just to have these as souvenirs. As I'm sure you know, these films are out there on youtube. And actually I've had copies of them for years from a site called mousebits and have watched them over and over. It would just be cool to have copies in my hands. Just something about it.

Thanks again for the quick responses. I appreciate it.

I was wondering if anyone has copies of all of the Walt Disney World Super8s and wouldn't mind taking a pictures of the boxes. There are some from this list where I can't find any pictures and it would be cool to see what the boxes looked like.

Appreciate any help.

Thanks,
Brian

Hi Brian,

I, too, am a Walt Disney World & Disneyland fan. I also have some of the super 8's.

If you watch my videos, you will see I put a photo of the box before the film starts.

The Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World

An Evening at The Magic Kingdom

Nice to see a fellow Haunted Mansion lover. Like Jean-Marc, I am a huge fan of this attraction.

I have the Disneyland 50' reel and the WDW reel. I added sound to it. You can see the box for that on my video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3hqUjs7DiOQ

I also have the 50' reels for "it's a small world" and "Country Bear Jamboree". I have not posted them on Youtube yet as I still need to make a soundtrack for both.

If you want, I can email you photos of everything I have. This also includes "Main Street Electrical Parade" and "America on Parade" from Disneyland.

Let me know.

You might also want to check out mycoolhomevideos on Youtube. He has many of the films on Jean-Marc's list. In fact, I bought my MSEP film from him.

Thanks Chris. Appreciate the info.

Yeah, some of the ones that I'd really like to see the boxes for are...

735 - Fantasyland at Disneyland (200ft col snd or slt - eng or spanish)
737 - Fantasyland at Walt Disney World (200ft col snd or slt - eng or spanish)

I just noticed that someone's selling Vacation Wonderland at WDW on ebay. But unfortunately there's a label on the box and the box has some wear to it. That one, Fantasyland at WDW and the Pirates from WDW are the ones that I'd like to get a hold of to complete my set.

I just picked up IASW (WDW) and Jungle Cruise (WDW) off ebay last week. Those are great boxes.

I'll just keep watching ebay.

Thanks again.

Ah, you're the one who got the "Jungle Cruise" film. [Smile] I have a copy of "it's a small world" from WDW and DL. Both boxes are great and both films are excellent. Like my "Country Bear Jamboree", both have pretty amazing color. I wish I could say the same about the "Haunted Mansion" film. If you watched my video, you could see how red it was. That was ten years ago. It is even redder now.

As for the other films I saw form that seller, the one I really wanted was "River Country" but I missed the auction. Do you have that? I would love to see it. I remember going there in 1982. It was so much fun.

You are gathering a great collection of Disney Theme Park history. I hope you can watch it someday soon.

Hi Chris!

Yep, the Jungle Cruise was me. I did see the River Country film. But that doesn't hold any special memories for me as I never visited that. So I let that film pass me by.

So what do your Small World DL and WDW boxes look like? Does the one from DL have a picture of the attraction from the outside? I seem to recall that it did. If so, that's a good looking box.

I only ask because I also seem to recall seeing a Small World box that had like a light blue border with a circular picture from inside the attraction. And I don't believe it said DL or WDW on it.

I'm not that interested in DL since I've only visited it once while I was in the Navy and stationed on the west coast. But WDW holds a very special place in my heart.

Thanks also for the info about mycoolhomevideos. Last night I checked out his/her video listing and they have Fantasyland at DL on there. At the beginning they showed the box. I had never seen that before and it was nice to see.

So, what all do you have? Here's what I currently have...

714 The Magic Kingdom – Walt Disney World (I have two versions of this. One with the multiple pics on the box and one with Mickey in front of the castle.)

715 Haunted Mansion – Disneyland (I got this over 11 years ago because it was a HM souvenir. It was before I got into collecting films and really didn't know about the WDW version.)

720 It’s a Small World – Walt Disney World

723 Jungle Cruise – Walt Disney World

726 An Evening at the Magic Kingdom – Walt Disney World

731 Vacation Kingdom at Walt Disney World

732 Walt Disney World Attraction Highlights #1

733 Walt Disney World Attraction Highlights #2

736 Disneyland : From Dream To Reality

I only picked up Disneyland : From Dream to Reality because I'm also a big fan of Walt and his life. And how he created the first great theme park is just incredible.

A little off the subject, but I also have Dr. Syn and the Three Caballeros because they hold special memories of when I was a child.

Jean-Marc, that's so cool that Dr. Syn was your first. Yeah, that theme song stayed with me for decades after seeing it on Disney's Wonderful World of Color as a five or six year old.

One of my favorite DVD collection is the Disney's Treasures for Dr. Syn. I LOVE IT!! Really takes me back to my childhood.
