I was setup to run a b/w feature I had bought some time ago, but when I retrieved the first part, I noticed the front end leader had got trapped between the outer case and the reel, creasing the film at 45 degrees in 3-4 places on opposites sides to the perforations. These would not project well through the Elmo I thought, so I set the iron to warm, got the board out, a hanky chief, and very carefully tried to press out the creases !!!. Now I can say it certainly didn't get the heavy creases out, but it did flatten out the sharpness of the crease, and the more lighter ones were visibly better and flatter. So I ran it through to check it out, success !!!!, the Elmo never missed a beat. I'm sure this idea came off this forum and thanks to that person, my fox fan fair logo runs nice and smooth with no warbling to the sound.

Nice tip Paul. Don't forget the hanky though or else you will also have one knackered iron soleplate as well as film! L.O.L.

Forgot to say Andrew, make sure you fold the hanky to a freshly cut sandwich, ( triangular ), 2-3 folds at least in this case. Fairly sure the film was poly based, not tried an acetate film, so trial and error, press and check, proceed with caution.
