The new bulb you put in might also be broken. (new bulbs can be broken in shipment) OR the lamp socket could be broken. Try fiddling with it. Don't get burnt or shocked in the process...All this said, I'm assuming all other functions work on the projector...PS check the projectors fuses

It might be that a new lamp base is required Jeroen,I suspect that
one of the contacts has burnt away, or isn't making contact.

It could be the socket, it could be the high/low switch is shot, or it could be that the switch activated by the control knob is dead. (Control knob switches are not impossible to replace, but they sure try to be!) Then there is the usual connectors, wiring, fuses, etc.

The switches that control projection lamps take a pretty huge beating because of the current surge that happens when you first light a cold bulb.

On something like this it might be good to use a an automotive test light (Have to be one that is AC capable) to poke around until you find out where the voltage stops. A house current level test light expects too much voltage.

All I ask is a wide screen and a projector to light her by...
