These lamps are usually found in 8mm movie editors.

Taken off the box, the old Philips number for it is 10-6814.
Specs.. 6v 10w BA 15s (Single contact)

You may be able to get them on ebay.

hi frank,
you are right my editor has one too, but these are the kind that are like in elmos it is a low wattage halogen I believe.
it looks kind of like one pictured. my question is can these be found in home centers?

 -

UPDATE: I did manage to get the bulb working again a loose connection the bulb socket is getting 6v so it was a matter of jiggling the wire to make it work, but would be nice to have an extra so still wondering if these can be bought in home centers?

I did manage to find out from 2 different sources that these bulbs are indeed no longer made they stopped making them when they stop production on the TRV's so if you have a TRV unit hang on to the lamps shield the bulbs can be bought but the housings cannot be bought one has to switch out the small bulb inside it this also applies to all TRV's. The one I pictured above will barely fit in the lamp housing if one knows a machinist that can take some metal out of the housing the bulb pictured above would fit.

Jim,

Searching on google shows that this tye of bulb is still widely used, hence is still on production.

Here it is:

https://www.interlight.biz/light-bulb/LIGHT-BULB-LAMP-JDR%2FM6V-5W

It is $7.

Donsbulb selling it for $77, maybe this is the orginal ones:

http://www.donsbulbs.com/cgi-bin/r/b.pl/h%7C6v%7C10w%7Cgz4%7Car15%7Cfl.html

Anyway, you still can geet it very cheap. Good luck!
