I have a very nice spare SM8 that I am considering selling. It is the three knob version. The sound speed seems to be slow as the voices are deep and it sounds like the speaker has a bit of a drawl. Is there a way to adjust the speed? Thanks.

The three knob Bolex SM8 is now probably around forty years old and may need servicing. I bought one off German eBay which turned out to be quite a problem. However, after a visit to my service engineer it now runs like a dream.
Here are the items which needed attention.
1) Shaft & bearings oiled 2) Cam greased 3) Felt wick oiled 4) Motor drive belt adjusted 5) 24fps/18fps speed adjusted via pulley wheel 6) Reverse clutch adjusted

Maurice, I have done all but adjusted the motor drive pulley. Don't know how to do that. I have anothet SM8. That runs just fine.
