In the finale when Dracula falls onto a table, stills look as if he has been impaled with something. Am I just imagining this? I never quite understood what causes his demise.

...He pressed his back against a stained glass window depicting a crucifix. Fell to the altar. A prayer was being recited in Latin. What I think about these later day Hammer Dracula Films was that they were looking for a new way to kill Vampires...
