My father recently purchased a GAF 1588-Z projector, but while having some problems (which I have figured out for him), he took apart the lens. I have a picture of what all of the pieces look like, but I cannot figure out how to upload it let alone put it back together. We have the manual, but there is very little regarding the manual. Can anyone help? Thank you!

Best of luck on reassembling a lens. All the lenses have to be in the right order and all surfaces have to be in the correct orientation. Never take a lens apart unless you make a written sketch of the lens sequence and mark the front and back edges of the lenses as you dissassemble them.

If you email me your pics, I will post them here for you.

See my profile for my email address.

Added edit - I just found a projector like yours - here locally. I have made an offer to try to purchase it locally.

If I win, I will send you the lens.

Paul - thanks. I would never have taken it apart. My 73 y/o father did and now I'm left to figure it out for him.

Mike - I just sent you an email. Any help would be so greatly appreciated!! [Smile]

Alicia welcome! Here is a lens from one of my GAFs. I didn't remove the smaller lens on the tail of lens holder since it was glued into the lens tube. All components should go in the order I've shown.

I hope this helps:)

Janice - thank you so much! I will go to my dad's tomorrow and re-assemble as shown here. This board is so awesome, thank you to everyone who helped. I will let you all know if this worked, but I have a good feeling. Thanks again! [Smile]
