Here it is:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/300708653593?ssPageName=STRK:MESINDXX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1436.l2649#ht_2055wt_1185

The seller confirmed that it is the trailer of the Ridley Scott movie releasing this year. So we have a trailer on Super 8 before the feature is out. Is this common? Was it common in the past?

From the description it looks like there's free shipping worldwide.

Hugh, am probably not bidding. Just posted here to let folks know. When I asked the seller too many questions about the origin of the print, he admitted that he is just a seller.

No one knows who printed this?

This looks like the very first trailer:

I'm sure it's from Germany unless someone in Spain is doing super 8mm.

This promethius could be a tremendous hit for Ridley Scott! Who best to tell the "prequel" story of "ALIEN" ?!

Now, this is a film that I would certainly see when it comes out!

Although I'm astonished and impressed that someone has been so quick off the mark, I'm fairly sure it's genuine as it has the authentic look of something printed by the usual lab. Even the distinctive colours that I'd associate with their prints are evident. Note that unfortunately it's not scope and is widescreen, like CHC's 'Avatar'. Hopefully Steve Osborne or CHC know something about this, even if they are not responsible. A $2 start price and free shipping is surprising but the seller has feedback for one sale in 2011, so they haven't just created an account to sell this. I might bid as I was hoping a trailer would be released from this.

It has been a surprise to see that someone is releasing super 8 prints here in Madrid. I have asked the seller about the print, and he has asnwered me that it is a kinescope from HD. As a cine lover didnīt found it cool. As 35mm printing is not as it used to be, optical, maybe some of you find this way a great solution. What do you think?

Normally, Kinescopes don't look that great. I would be curious to see this now I now it is not from a 35mm print. If it doesn't go too high I might do just that. Too bad it is the first trailer. I would love to have the newer one.

Looking very much to this film. At least, it is shot on film. There are too many coming out that are not.

I find a kinescope from HD even more surprising than a print from 35mm. Even after someone had managed to obtain a HD source, the lab would charge a very high sum for producing a Super 8 print of it, and then more for striping and recording. If I went to such expense and then wasn't sufficiently happy to keep the print, I'd have reservations about offering it for $2 even if I was confident that it would go higher.

I wondered if by any chance a Forum member won this? As far as I know, it's still a mystery with no evidence of other prints bering produced.

It's possible this was the real deal. It's expected to be available at some point in the near future according to the 32nd issue of The Reel Image.
