I've sometimes wondered about the screw holes on Elmos such as the GS1200 that are utilised by certain scope lens holders. Did Elmo put them there with a specific scope lens holder in mind, or was it simply so that people could subsequently design holders utilising the holes?

I have a scope lens designed for the Elmo 16-CL (Code 1280) which fits into the two holes at the front. I assume the GS-1200 has a similar fit.
The top hole accepts a pin, whilst the bottom hole is threaded and accepts a knurled screw. When not in use the lens swings out of the way.

Anyone still selling those for the 16-CL?

Interesting to learn of the 'official' Elmo 16mm bracket. I'm inclined to think that there wasn't a Super 8 equivalent, as I just thought of checking the optional accessories pages in the GS instruction manual, and didn't find a scope lens holder. However, the Elmo Viewer and the Daylight projection mirror look like they may use at least one of the holes.

I always thought that Elmo made a swing out holder for their super 8 projectors. I'm sure ive seen them on Ebay and dealers lists.

The one I use for GS1200 was bought from either Widescreen Centre or Spondon I think in was made only for the GS and it did use the screw hole at the front, the top was 90` alloy bracket that just rested on the top.

It was well engineered.

I've got one of swing ones that I'm sure the Widescreen Centre produced. In fact it has a screw for the top hole as well, although this doesn't quite match up on mine! I'll probably sell it because it's OK but I'd prefer a Wittner one that positions the lens in a specific position.

I've just had a chance to see if the 16-CL anamorphic will fit a GS-1200. It won't!
On one of my GS-1200 a bracket is screwed into the single hole at the front. On referring to page 56 of the Instruction Book you can see it at the top alongside the Elmo Viewer.
It hangs down from the single screw and has two open holes, each hole goes down into a slot. Obviously the viewer fits into the holes and then slides down to lock.
