We have seen a picture of a stewardess loading a film into a projector but not a movie of it:

Go to 04:00 and you will see how it was years ago.

Another video showing when film is showing:

A good discussion made by aviation enthusiats about inflight movie system can also be read here:

Wonderful footage Winbert!

I'll see if I can download this footage onto my removeable hard drive! It doesn't look like the projectors used later on, but it will certainly help. Do you know if this short documentary is under copyright in any way shape or form? I don't want to step on any toes.

Once again, many thanx, Winbert!

Back in the days of 16mm for in-flight movies. That is the reason often given for colour VT TV programmes appearing on 16mm.

I believe that the 16mm projection unit shown in Winbert's first video was an adapted Kodak Pageant.

I LOVE those reels. They look to be slim enough to be super 8 reels, but I could be wrong, as I have heard that 16MM was also used for airlines features, though it would appear to be more bulky, heavier and potentially, more reel changes, (which is why, sooner or later, they became super 8 features instead of 16MM for airlines.)
