I recently mentioned about my Eumig clone, a Bolex SP8E, and the white dot on its inching knob compared with a red dot on the Eumigs.

I have just been using my Eumig 824 Sonomatic and noticed that its dot is white. However, the Instruction Book re-assures me that it is set "at the top", i.e., 12 o'clock, for claw retraction.

that is correct, the dot allways neds to be at the top for the claw retraction to remove the gate safely. the color of the dot doesn't matter
