"Isoclene" is a really professional excellent product for this job. Reference it on the internet for best price as there are many who stock this. Use with a cotton bud.

Isoclene is claimed to be 99.7% pure. I use Isopropyl Alcohol which states that it's 99.9% pure.

A 1 litre bottle will last for ages. I use it for removing sticky tape residue from film ends, cleaning old film cans, magnetic sound heads, rubber rollers and many other items.

Film can also be cleaned. Use a rewind to pass it slowly through a dampened cloth, this is for the applied chemical to dry before reaching the take-up spool.

It is sold by Amazon UK.

For some unknown reason, they sell now alcool at 70 % in Belgium for domestic purposes and no longer pure alcool.

Is this not just cassette tape head cleaner?, bib did these and
radio shack and most probably Maplin too. Check Ebay, you won't need more than the small bottle in the kit, they come with tape to repair your cassette tapes and cotton buds and felt pads.
