Hello.
I bought this fine machine, but there is no sound. Only a large "hissen" when volume is max. and mainshifter is in position ( 1 + 1/2 + 2 Soundtrack ).
Everything seems to be correct connected from soundheads to printboard !
Does anyone have an idea, whats the matter ?

Kind regards !

I don't have any experience at all with these machines Niels but I know plenty on here do have so hopefully one of the experienced 8 series Eumig projector members will hopefully be able to guide you better.

Off the top of my head, it sounds as though your amplifier is working in the manner it should but is not picking up any signal from the magnetic head. Based on this, if it was me, I would check to see that the magnetic head is loading onto the film stripe correctly and the nylon presser(s) is/ are loading, then I would first of all try an external input feeding into the projectors amplifier to see that that is working correctly thus eliminating any issues with the Record mode on the machine, pre amp and output amplifier stages of the machine.

at least that way you narrow down the possibilities. [Smile]

A well documented issue..

Disconnect from the mains supply

Remove back cover

On the amplifier in the base you will see a switch board which is connected to the record button via a wire.

Turn the main control on the front to reverse

Squirt the electronic switch on the board with good quality switch contact cleaner also pushing the record button in and out several times.

Replace the black back cover

Put front main control back to standard position

Plug in an you should be OK with it.

Good luck!

Thank you very much Andrew and Lee.
Job done exacktly as Lee descriped it. And the projector sounds very good in general.
I guess "living" with some kind of "humming" goes along with having and Eumig.

This forum is truly a "goldmine" of knowhow from dedicated people.....What a great exspirience!!!!

Kind regards.

Lee is the man for any of these type of machines it would seem.
I am glad you now have your machine up and running Niels.

Very well done indeed Lee and Niels and as said, on many occasions, this forum is completely invaluable for anyone who needs to know anything at all about a film related subject!

There is always someone who has the answer, just amazing!!
