Where is the sound head located? I would try to clean it if I knew that. I am new to this forum.

It's right below the lamp housing: you will see some wirings soldered to the terminals (some reds, some whites etc). The head is incased in an assembly which holds it in place with the right adjustment micro-screws. The gaps are accessible with the machine in stop mode: the pressers unit, i.e. a shoe encompassing 4 pressers for the sound head, will sit detached from the head and you can clean it with a cotton swab moistened with isopropil alcohol.

Hi
I wondered if those nylon shoe should press the film up to the sound head. Mine do not appear to contact the film at all.

Hi, Kenneth.

Correct, those nylon shoes shoud press against the four gaps on the sound head but only when the main control knob is in soung FWD mode. Otherwise they remain detached from the head for:

a) auto threading
b) silent projection (to spare wear on the heads)

Hi Maurizio
I believe that I am not sure as to where the sound heads are located. The pressers do appear to be in contact with the film when in Fwd. Is there a repair manual or a picture available for download, etc.? This machine has been sitting out of service since 1985 when my son finished high school.

Sound head position: like said, below the lamp housing AND above the sound pressers (which you mentioned so I assume you have located them). I'll try to post some shots later...
