I use to have King Kong on Super 8 and it was washed out and seemed to lack definition. Are there any copies out there in Super 8 that look as good as this one?

It looks like a fairly new or recent printing, either that or Janus Films had that out there for a long time. I usually associate Janus Films with the laserdisc age on up.

Mountain did this in 6x400ft complete feature. I think it was the first release of the RKO titles.

Like Osi, I associate Janus Films with the heyday of laserdiscs, as their name was generally linked to the great Criterion Collection.
The 6x400ft version from Mountain was really good and a jewel in my own collection before I found a great 16mm print (similar to the one advertised on Ebay).

I associate Janus Films with the Laurel and Hardy 16mm prints that are out there and used to be shown on TV when I was a kid. I didn't know they released KONG.

Looks exactly like my Janus print at least from the pics. The ad said I lacked a plug-in to play the videos. But my print came from the Empire State Building. How cool is that. Must have been the print they showed there. I've had mine for about 10 years. I didn't like either print from Mountain, which doesn't have the whole censored scenes, it lacks some of the close-ups as I recall. The Nostalgia Merchant print was just plain awful.
