Hello
My first time on this forum:) I bought a bell and howell 606h 8mm projector on eBay for £20 and everything works on it except for what I believe is called the gate. There is a small bit of spring steel that tensions it and it's broken. I'm not sure what I should do. Could another one be made or be purchased somewhere? I was also given a bell and howell sportster v camera when my grandfather passed and have been keen to use it. Would eBay be the best bet to get some cheap 8mm film.
Thanks,
Alex

Alex.
Welcome to the Forum.
I suggest you try to get your money back and invest in a Eumig P8 Novo.
Even if you did get your Bell & Howell working you will find it extremely difficult to get the lamps for it, some advertisers are asking £50 each.
I attach a link to the Old Film Company who offer 8mm processing, maybe they can also offer raw double 8 film stock.

Thanks for the reply. I just wanted the machine for watching a couple old films. I wanted to see if I could get that little spring steel to get it all working.
Regards

You may have to buy another projector of the exact same model to get the part you want. You may get lucky and find one with a good bulb as well.
