So, My 461a seems like the forward reverse transmission is going bad, its much noisier in forward, than rewind. is this just how they are? or what? going to look on ebay, but where else can I get parts for my projector?

Hi Jason...Welcome to the Forum!.I have a Bell & Howell 482. It has a rheostat speed control, but other than that pretty much the same design as your 461. My projector doesn't seem any noisier in Forward compared to Reverse. I don't know if this is a projector you have owned for awhile and it just started this behavior or if it is a recent purchase and it came that way. None the less you should open it up to check out the back. Could be a cracked gear....maybe it needs cleaning and lubrication...or possibly bad belts. You won't know until you take a look.
