Depending on the amount of interest shown by collectors, CHC just might be releasing a great scope 2 trailer reel of two recent westerns from a certain cult favorite, film loving director.

The first trailer is a revenge based epic with 2 bounty hunters (one of them a former slave). The second is a claustrophobic effort along similar lines but here we have a woman in custody who finds herself in a desolate cabin with several characters whose motives are ambiguous.

No need to go mentioning names for now! What does need to be mentioned is that CHC needs a firm response via email or phone from collectors stating that they would buy this reel in order for this release to go ahead.

So please contact CHC in the next 10 days, showing firm and solid intent. Encourage your friends and fellow collectors to get involved, as CHC will need a decent number of commitments before it can go ahead. Remember, production costs are high and CHC would effectively be doing it for the love of the hobby, so hopefully 8mm collectors can support this effort and help keep the losses down and the hobby alive.

Send that email, make that call now!

?? CHC wants collectors to firmly commit (their money) to a trailer reel in which the film titles aren't disclosed beforehand?? Why?

Email sent!

John, I feel Doug was clear in describing the two movies that could be available. If not, there is definitely a recent topic in the forum discussing the possibility

John, I think Doug's message is clear enough. I'm going to send an e-mail to CHC right now.

?? So if the descriptions of the films themselves are clear, then why are the film titles withheld? Seems very strange to me ....

No need to mention the titles, if anyone has read Marks efforts recently it'l be a bit obvious, i for one will be ringing Phil tomorrow and i do believe he should ask for a non refundable deposit from everyone, this way it will be a much firmer commitment. Being a trailer i think most of us should be able to stretch for that.
It will be great to have a piece of bang up to date movie on our gauge. [Wink]

Emailing or Phoning your friends etc might help.

As mentioned CHC would be bearing a loss doing this, as with any super 8 releases these days, so the more we can support them the better.

The set up costs alone would make your eyes water, never mind the phycical costs of the film and recording, printing etc etc.

2 great films to buy on Blu Ray as well by the way.

With my health situation I am giving up film anyway though still getting a nice CL for my son who will do odd bits.

So even though its Blu Rays from Amazon etc from now on, I`ll still support chc on this if enough people commit and it happens. Hope so.

Best Mark.

Mashed softwood trees a non factual read is one of my all time top ten films! Although the director's first effort copious water supply faithful quadrupeds is a great film also...

I`d guess about £35-£40 ish area, so thats about right Tom, having spoken to Phil.

I`d also guess CHC would be loosing about £10+ or so a pop if it does well even, so the more who get a copy the better, might just ease that loss down a little at least or make sure its not higher.

In terms of cost of living etc these days, and with all the effort that will go in, I think its really worth anyone having a copy.

If it works out well, maybe something similar can be done again.

Best Mark.
